Can I Use Single Sign On (SSO) With DocBoss?

One of the more popular topics on the DocBoss support website recently has been the topic of Single Sign On (SSO).

Single Sign-On is an authentication method that allows a user to access multiple independent applications or websites with a single set of login credentials.

Instead of having to remember and enter a different username and password for each service, the user authenticates once with a central “identity provider.” This provider then issues a secure token that confirms the user’s identity to other applications, granting them access without needing to log in again.

While the basic concept of SSO dates back to the 1980s, the widespread adoption of cloud services and mobile apps in the 2020s led to the creation of modern protocols that we can now take advantage of.
